2009 CLA ANNUAL CONVENTION – CANCELLED!

Dear Industry Colleagues,

It is with regret that we inform you that the 2009 CLA Annual Convention scheduled to be held at the Toronto Sheraton Hotel February 18 and 19 has been cancelled. This very difficult and unfortunate decision was made in light of the exceptionally low number of registrants the event has been able to attract to date.

The global economic crunch has hit the lumber manufacturing community extremely hard. It is an unprecedented crisis that has spared no one in its wake, not even long standing Associations such as the CLA.

Drastic times like these often require unpleasant measures. For the CLA, the cancellation of its most important and noteworthy annual gathering is the reflection of the industry’s current financial difficulties.

We thank all of you who have registered for this year’s event for your understanding. You can rest assured that all registration fees paid will be reimbursed in a timely manner. In addition, you are advised to contact the Toronto Sheraton Hotel directly to confirm your room cancellations at your earliest convenience.

This is just an “Au revoir”…We look forward to serving you again in 2010. By then the industry will have found new life towards an even brighter future.
