Softwood

The Softwood Bureau is comprised of members involved in the production, wholesale and distribution of dimensional spruce-pine-fir, red & white pine and other softwood specialty products. The National Lumber Grades Authority (NLGA) is the basis for inspection on the various lumber grades available in the market place.

The CLA is accredited by the Canadian Lumber Standards Accreditation Board and the American Lumber Standards Committee. The CLA trademark is recognized throughout North America. The UK Timber Grading Committee recognizes the CLA as an approved certification body for inspection on products destined to the European Community. Our logo has also been approved for use in Japan by the Ministry of Construction.
