NLGA Standard Grading Rules for Canadian Lumber

The National Lumber Grades Authority (NLGA) rule is approved and enforced by the Canadian Lumber Standards Accreditation Board and the the American Lumber Standard Board of Review. This approval enables acceptance under Canadian and US Building Codes.

Canadian Lumber Grading Manual

The Canadian Lumber Grading Manual is a training manual that has been compiled solely to assist students to learn, with classroom instruction, conventional lumber grading practices. It is not intended as a replacement for the National Lumber Grades Authority (NLGA) Standard Grading Rules for Canadian Lumber and must not be relied upon except as an instructional aide.

SPS (1) NLGA Special Products Standards for Fingerjointed Structural Lumber

This NLGA Standard outlines specifications for grade and property valuation procedures as well as quality control requirements for producing Fingerjointed Structural Lumber. This Standard as well as the following SPS Standards are approved and monitored by the Canadian Lumber Standard Accreditation Board and the American Lumber Standards Board of Review.

SPS (2) NLGA Special Products Standards for Machine Stress Rated Lumber

This Standard outlines specifications for grade and evaluation procedures as well as quality control requirements for producing Machines Stress Rated Lumber (MSR), Machine Evaluated Lumber (MEL) and E-LAM Lumber.

SPS (3) NLGA Special Products Standards for Fingerjointed Stud Lumber

This Standard is specific to producing Fingerjointed Lumber for Vertical Use Only. It outlines the specifications for grade and quality control requirements for the product.
